Anyone who enjoys original, unique, and colorful art, especially those who like computers will enjoy ChipScapes. If you think technology is cool, these are for you! About these ornaments This is number 5 of 12 sets of ornaments that I offer. There are three ornaments in each set. These ornaments are made from electronic circuit boards. Once computer chips are completed, they are placed with other computer chips on a circuit board. The board’s function is to physically support the chips and connect them together. Boards are made in layers to allow the wires, or traces, to connect the desired chips together without touching each other. The more chips, the more layers and copper traces needed. These boards have multiple chips and other components mounted on them. Here is a list of the three ornaments in this set: - The ornament with the red ribbon is from a cellular communications board. - The ornament with the green ribbon is from a high-end computer graphics board. - The ornament with the blue ribbon is from a Cisco Internet Protocol (IP) telephone board. What's in the box? First things first, the box itself is made with recycled craft paper with the ChipScapes name on the top. The box is sealed with a gold elastic tie, ready to be given as a gift! First in the box is an information card about making chips and ChipScapes, hand signed by the artist. Next you will find a credit card sized Fresnel 3X magnifying glass to closely observe your ornaments. Then each ornament is individually packaged in a resealable bag with a card to protect the ornament. The backstory and technology of each ornament is included in the bag (facing the back). It also has a picture of the ornament, so you can put the ornament back in the right bag. Also, in the bag is a piece of anti-tarnish paper to keep your silver ornament fresh when it’s in storage.
