The other reviewer whined about being misled - desc. is plain as day to me. So yeah, take the old one(s) off, go to the tire shop with the new ones and return and reinstall. I haven't bought this tire yet though, I need to. If the replacement lasts nearly as long as the original Carlisles, I'll be happy since the originals are still on my 1993 Murray!
This was a great replacement tire for my tractor. It fit well and has deep tread.
I have 10 Bolens Yard Tractors and after 45 years of use some of the tires are starting to give up the ghost. I have heard nothing but good about Carlisle Tires and decided to purchase a few. I tried them out today on my country lawn and was very pleasantly surprised as the tractor steered easily, and did not tear up my turf at all. Hope I can get another 45 years out of them like the last ones. Real sturdy looking and feeling tires. Very heavy duty and great value.
This is a good quality tire, original equipment for my Craftsman lawn tractor. The price and delivery were the best I've seen. You will have to have the tire mounted on your old rim. That is very difficult or impossible for the average person to do themselves so count on having a tire shop install it on the wheel. Walmart tire service was backed up when I picked this up so I took it to my local shop - they charged me $20 to put it on the rim and get rid of the old one.
Looking at the picture you would assume the rim came with it. Not so. All you get is the tire and you are on your own to have it mounted on your old rim. Walmart does not have the equipment to do the job at their automotive centers. I called around and was quoted $5.00 to as much as $25.00 to mount the tire. I thought it was a good deal but it's turning out to be a drawn out pain.
Decent price when searching for replacement tires for lawn tractor. This picture sure looks like the tire is on a rim so we ordered them. Nope, not on a rim so you have to take your tires somewhere to have the tires put on your rims. Adds about 3-4 hours more to your day when all you wanted to do was mow your lawn. BTW, did A LOT of internet searching and the pictures show in most cases if it's a rimless tire or not. Not here unfortunately.
