Blue sapphire is Saturn's gemstone. Sapphire belongs to Corundum Mineral species. Corundum is the second hardest substance on earth after Diamond. Sapphire comes in many colors like blue, pink, yellow etc. Blue color of Sapphire comes due to the charge transfer between Titanium and Iron. There are very few sapphires which show brilliant blue colors. If you do see such sapphire then you should be suspicious because it may either be a heated sapphire or a substitute of Blue Sapphire like Lapis Lazuli. Origin: The three most famous regions for sapphire are Kashmir, Burma and Srilanka. Other significant locations known for mining Sapphires are Madagascar, Australia, China, Montana USA, Tanzania and Thailand.
